This policy explains what personal information the Union of Ugandans in Malaysia collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal data in line with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
We do not store your full payment card details. Card payments are handled by third-party payment providers on their own systems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
We share personal data only where it is necessary to run the site and our services: with our web hosting provider, our payment providers, email and analytics services, and where we are required to do so by law. These providers may process data outside Malaysia.
This site uses cookies to keep the site working correctly, remember your preferences, and hold the contents of your cart or account session. We also use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as we are required to keep it for legal, accounting or reporting reasons. Order records are generally retained longer than general enquiries.
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, withdraw consent to our use of it, and limit its processing for certain purposes. You can unsubscribe from community emails at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us.
To make any of these requests, get in touch. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No website can guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us on that understanding.
This site links to external organisations such as universities, government departments and EMGS. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them your information.
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
Questions about this policy or about how we handle your data can be sent through our contact page.
