Uganda’s National Day Reception in Malaysia: A Celebration of Unity, Heritage, and National Pride
Each year, Ugandans around the world gather to commemorate one of the most important milestones in the nation’s history , Uganda’s Independence Day. This celebration marks not only the moment Uganda gained its sovereignty on October 9, 1962, but also the enduring strength, unity, and resilience of its people.
In that spirit, the Uganda High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is proud to host a National Day Reception for all Ugandans living in Malaysia and their spouses. The event is scheduled for Thursday, 6th November 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel, 145 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
The evening will be hosted by Her Excellency Dr Betty Oyella Bigombe, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to Malaysia, a distinguished diplomat and advocate for peace and development. Her Excellency will lead the celebration with an inspiring message of unity and progress, reflecting on Uganda’s achievements and the role of Ugandans abroad in shaping the country’s continued success.
A Night of Togetherness and Cultural Pride
The National Day Reception will be more than a formal event it will be a homecoming for the Ugandan community in Malaysia. Guests will have the opportunity to meet fellow Ugandans, share stories, and strengthen connections that go beyond borders. Strengthening Uganda–Malaysia Relations
